Escape of the Week

Get the app on your phone

Add Escape of the Week to your home screen so you can open it like an app and get pinged the moment a new flight drops. Takes about 30 seconds.

On a computer? Open this page on your phone instead β€” the install flow is mobile-only. Or scan the QR code at the bottom of the page.

On iPhone or iPad

You need to use Safarifor this. Chrome and Firefox on iOS don't support adding apps to your home screen.

  1. 1

Open Safari and tap the Share button

You'll find it at the bottom of the screen, in the middle of the toolbar. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing up.

    Share
  2. 2

Scroll down and tap β€œAdd to Home Screen”

In the Share menu, scroll past the apps row until you see this option in the list. It's usually around the middle.

    Add to Home Screen
  3. 3

    Tap β€œAdd” in the top-right

You can keep the name as β€œEscape of the Week” (or rename it). The app icon will appear on your home screen β€” Safari will close automatically.

  4. 4

Open the app from your home screen

Tap the new Escape of the Weekicon. This is the version you need to use to get notifications β€” Safari can't send push alerts, but the home-screen app can.

  5. 5

Turn on alerts inside the app

In the app, go to Flight Alerts and tap Enable alerts. Your phone will ask permission β€” tap Allowand you're done.

    Enable alerts
Heads up:if you turn alerts on inside Safari first, iOS won't actually send them. They only work from the home-screen version of the app. That's an Apple rule, not ours.

Stuck on a step?

Send Bryce a message inside the app and he'll walk you through it.
