Amex to Everyday Rewards 15% Bonus Transfer Offer

Is It Worth It?

American Express Membership Rewards members can get 15% bonus Everyday Rewards points when transferring to Everyday Rewards. Here’s how the offer works and whether it’s worth using.

American Express and Everyday Rewards have launched a new transfer bonus, giving eligible Amex Membership Rewards members a chance to earn 15% bonus Everyday Rewards points when transferring points across.

This is an interesting offer because it gives Amex members another way to turn flexible Membership Rewards points into Everyday Rewards points — which can then be used for money off eligible shops or converted into Qantas Points.

But before transferring, it’s worth asking the real question:

Is a 15% bonus enough reason to move your Amex points out of Membership Rewards?

For some people, yes.

For others, keeping your points flexible may still be the smarter move.

What Is the Amex to Everyday Rewards 15% Bonus Offer?

For a limited time, eligible American Express Membership Rewards members can receive 15% bonus Everyday Rewards points when transferring Amex points to Everyday Rewards.

The standard transfer rate is:

2,500 Amex Membership Rewards points = 2,000 Everyday Rewards points

With the 15% bonus, you would receive:

2,500 Amex Membership Rewards points = 2,300 Everyday Rewards points

That means you’re getting an extra 300 Everyday Rewards points for every 2,500 Amex Membership Rewards points transferred during the promotion.

What Can Everyday Rewards Points Be Used For?

Everyday Rewards points can generally be used in two main ways.

You can use them for money off eligible shops at Woolworths Group retailers, or you can set your account to convert Everyday Rewards points into Qantas Points.

The standard Everyday Rewards value is:

2,000 Everyday Rewards points = $10 off an eligible shop

Or, if converting to Qantas Points:

2,000 Everyday Rewards points = 1,000 Qantas Points

So this promotion can be useful whether you want to reduce your grocery bill or indirectly build your Qantas Points balance.

How Many Points Do You Get With the 15% Bonus?

Here’s how the numbers look:

2,500 Amex Membership Rewards points
Normally = 2,000 Everyday Rewards points
With 15% bonus = 2,300 Everyday Rewards points

25,000 Amex Membership Rewards points
Normally = 20,000 Everyday Rewards points
With 15% bonus = 23,000 Everyday Rewards points

50,000 Amex Membership Rewards points
Normally = 40,000 Everyday Rewards points
With 15% bonus = 46,000 Everyday Rewards points

100,000 Amex Membership Rewards points
Normally = 80,000 Everyday Rewards points
With 15% bonus = 92,000 Everyday Rewards points

If converting those Everyday Rewards points to Qantas Points, 100,000 Amex Membership Rewards points would become approximately 46,000 Qantas Points after the bonus.

Why This Offer Is Interesting for Qantas Points Collectors

This offer is interesting because Everyday Rewards can act as a pathway from Amex Membership Rewards to Qantas Points.

Normally:

2,500 Amex Membership Rewards points = 2,000 Everyday Rewards points = 1,000 Qantas Points

With the 15% bonus:

2,500 Amex Membership Rewards points = 2,300 Everyday Rewards points

Once converted through Everyday Rewards, that is effectively a better pathway to Qantas Points than usual.

This matters because not all Amex Membership Rewards cards transfer directly to Qantas Frequent Flyer.

So for some cardholders, Everyday Rewards can be a useful indirect way to build a Qantas Points balance.

Is the 15% Amex to Everyday Rewards Bonus Worth It?

The biggest benefit of Amex points is flexibility.

Once you transfer Amex points to Everyday Rewards, you can’t move them back.

And that flexibility can be incredibly valuable when searching for Business and First Class reward seats.

Why Flexibility Matters

The reason I’m careful with transfer bonuses is simple:

A bonus is only useful if the points end up where you can actually use them.

If you transfer to Everyday Rewards because of the 15% bonus, then later find better reward seat availability through another Amex airline partner, you may regret locking your points away too early.

For example, depending on your card and transfer partners, Amex points may give you access to airline programs connected with Velocity, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad, Marriott Bonvoy and others.

That flexibility can be more valuable than a small bonus — especially when chasing hard-to-find Business Class reward seats.

Because at the end of the day, the best points are the ones that help you actually book the flight you want.

When I Would Use This Offer

This offer could make sense if:

You want to convert into Qantas Points.

You don’t have direct access to Qantas transfers through your Amex card.

You already have a Qantas redemption in mind.

You understand you are giving up Amex Membership Rewards flexibility.

In those cases, the 15% bonus is a nice extra boost.

When I Would Avoid It

I’d be cautious if:

You don’t have a clear plan for the points.

You’re saving Amex points for Business or First Class flights.

You want access to multiple airline partners.

You’re not sure whether Qantas will have reward seats.

You may need to use another airline program for the route you want.

You’re only transferring because of the bonus.

A 15% bonus can sound tempting, but it’s not always worth giving up flexibility for.
