Ubank has quietly launched a short-run referral offer and it is one of the easiest $100 going around but it closes at 11:59pm this Friday, 28 August.

If you are new to ubank: $100.
If you refer someone: $100 for your first friend, then $30 for every friend after that. There is no cap on how many people you can refer!

3. Transfer some money in from any Australian bank account.
4. Make 5 card purchases of $5 or more each within your first 30 days. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay or the ubank Visa Debit card all count.
That is the whole thing. Five ordinary purchases you were going to make anyway. This whole process should take 10 mins and then just choosing to pay with a different eftpos card.
⚠️ The bits worth knowing
Your purchases must SETTLE, not just show up. If a transaction is still showing as "pending" in your history when the 30 days is up, it does not count. Make them early in the month, not on day 29.
You must be new. If you have been a ubank customer at any point in the past 12 months, you are not eligible.
You must be 18 or over. Both sides of the referral do.
The money is not instant. Allow up to a month after you have met the criteria for it to land in your Spend account. Realistically you are looking at around two months from signup to cash.
It can end early. ubank has allocated a limited pool of bonus payments and the offer stops the moment that runs out — even if it is before Friday.
The app can be slow to verify on signup. If you get a "Signup temporarily unavailable" message, that is your phone checking the app with Apple rather than anything you have done. Restart your phone and try again, or switch between wifi and mobile data. Come back in a few hours.
